  • Allotment books

Although I haven't even got an allotment I bought a book which is on offer at the moment in Waterstones 'The Allotment Book' by Andi Clevely. It was reduced by £5 to £12-99. I've since found it on Amazon for about £9 but you have to pay postage on top of that so not much difference.I love it, it has everything from how to get, plan & set up an allotment to growing & harvesting fruit & veg. & recipes. The ideas work even for growing on a small scale in a garden.
I've also noticed a similar book 'Allotment Gardening' by Susan Berger on offer for £3-99 on 'The Book People' website. They don't have a vast number of gardening books but it's worth checking them every so often as they sometimes have big name hardbacks(RHS, Monty Don, Alan Titchmarsh etc.) at really cheap prices & some months have free delivery offers also.http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk

That how I fell for it Sue.

My wife bought me about 4 books from a publishers outlet shop they were all reduced to about a fiver I think, and having read them I thought thats a doddle , I could do that. Went to the site, got a plot & ...... put my back out !!!

So I think its a case of Reader beware
