Is it me......... or has it really been a rubbish season?

This is the first proper growing year I've had up here and apart from the obligatory courgette glut everything else has been a bit pants.

I've had a great year myself, apart from the toms being a bit late in ripening. Haven't seen any cabbage white butterflies, very little slug or snail damage and the incessant rain appears to have helped the outdoor crops. Soft and hard fruit have thrived this year and onion white rot hasn't been so prevalent, along with cabbages not being affected by clubroot on ground I know harbours it.
Weather a bit carp today and I'm just sitting here waiting for the tide to subside from the back door (rained all night) before I venture out!

      Long may it reign (rain)

Nice spring day yesterday. Allowed me to get my greenhouse up without the panes being blown out or getting drowned in the rain!

Certainly looked to be a fab day from my office window Snadger.

Am looking forward to this weekend and lighter evenings. Combine that with my newly gained flexi and I know where I'll be every evening.

(I never know where to place Sheffield - I'm east of the Pennines so will post in here!).

Had to scrape the car this morning and the cricket pitch in our village is white over with frost. Glad I put some straw around the winter potatoes on the weekend. I can't believe it - 31 August and a frost.

Devastation at the allotment. My sunflowers which WERE 10 feet high are now flattened. Chooks are cowering in the corner with the wind and horizontal rain. Must have been a hard frost last night as the cougette plants are all blackened.

I blame that sodding meteor that was seen in the sky a couple of nights ago.

Did we have a frost a couple of nights ago in this neck of the woods? Went to the allotment today to find my tatties have been hit by frost!
