  • Beautiful here too....still only 12 outside (on the windowsill) which is a good thing as our woodburner had decided its time to fall apart.....so weve let it go out so we can give it a good going over and perhaps get to the Godin store on Tuesday (closed Mondays) to see if we can get repairs......

    • Watched the meteo last evening and apart from a rather overcast Tuesday, the prevision for the whole of this week is warm and sunny. So planning at least 4 hours outside each day just doing the pottering things that add up to waking myself up along with the garden.

Need to have it all sorted (well, sort of sorted) before Saturday because the 6 nations is back on then and Sunday I've got two very large remorques of hoss poo coming in the morning which I've swapped for some cut logs from our wood which suits me just fine, can't get rid of the wood usually so suits us and the hoss owners!

Yesterday did all manner of those small jobs that don't appear very much but when you list them - I'm keeping an accurate gardening diary now - you realise you actually did quite a bit. Happy Days!!

      • We've had frosts for the past week, but lovely sunny days once the sun has blown off the mist.
First full cut of the grass yesterday!

        • Frosty mornings here too but lovely and sunny during the day although the wind is a biting north easterly. Dry until the weekend then some rain. Might just get the new chicken house finished!!

          • Great weather at the moment, making the best of it and today was my first day of the year in the garden wearing SHORTS and a polo shirt. Happy days indeed !!

            • Great weather for the past few days and set fair for the rest of the week. Been working outside in shorts for the past two weeks or so and when J and stopped for tea this afternoon it was 22 degrees on the terrasse, glorious blue cloudless sky side to side.

And more on the prevision for the next few days - really inspiring me to get on with so much in the garden, first year I haven't been diverted onto other projects and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Loads of timber being delivered tomorrow for new raised beds on the potager (which I'm moving round and adapting for the FINAL time), planting new stuff, cutting trees to finish the new orchard, superb all round.

              • Saw the prevision for the rest of this week - superb, wall to wall sun shine, cold mornings but up to 21 in the apres-midi which probably means 23/24 in our little micro climate. I'm currently working on the near woods chain sawing trees I dropped last year and tomorrow it's a bonfire and more tree cutting I think. Major project but will take full advantage of the weather !!

Just reminding myself why we moved here this afternoon sitting on the terrasse with a cup of tea with J and our chum who helps with the big garden projects, unpolluted fresh air, virtually no traffic on our chemin rurale, clear skys etc etc.

                Happy Days

                • Weather stunning all day and set for similar tomorrow. Friday could be a bit more overcast and perhaps some rain - it would be really welcome atm - on Saturday.

So more gardening, followed by even more gardening, followed by a spot more gardening

Mine's coming along quite nicely too. I don't do sunburn as such, too many health problems if I get a tan on my body so always wear t shirt and shorts when I'm in the garden. But colouring up nicely too right now.

And weather set fair for a few days more, some errands to run tomorrow but hopefully will get some plants planted out tomorrow and get the grass in the top terrace sprayed to kill it off, we're changing it into a gravel and grass garden!

                        • Glorious day today but no gardening as yet, errands and things all morning and off to see the GP in a short while.

But gardening afterwards, have a load of plants to get in so rather than do anything to strenuous this afternoon, will do gentle, planty things.

                              • Hot hot hot (26 today) and due to get hotter (27/28) in the next couple of days, not even thinking of bringing the babies in for the next couple of nights, so warm, start to harden them off nicely.
