I've been wearing shorts in the garden today and yesterday got burnt whilst out walking. Gonna have to get the hose pipe out soon!

Geez, wish it would rain. The water butts (2100 litres in store when they were full) are running down now, it's way too hot to work in the afternoon, inside the greenhouse, with the door and vent wide open is like a sauna in the afternoon and I'm having to water after 8pm because it's just too hot to do so earlier.
Still, lots of things growing away now, toms and other things coming along beautifully and all sorts of seeds sprouting through now.
Planted out a few things into the revamped raised beds but still holding out until St Glace which isn't that far away now.TonyF, Dordogne 24220

24C supposedly today...
Water???....I'm back to bowls of washing up water/bathwater being relocated to my fruit/flower beds ...there's no way our 2 x 1000 l water storage is even going to last until the end of May either!
We bought 2 more recently but they're not set up yet

'tis fair blowing a gale here I was putting my tomatoes out into the blowaway and a hooge gust of wind blew the side in and knocked them all on the floor pffft Lovely and sunny though... at the moment.
The forecast here is for rain on Friday (the day we get our noo ride on mower ) and then 4 days of rain - I never thought I'd say this about rain but

Wooooow we had a whole millimetre last night. The first since the 30th of March. I will remember not to use all of it at once!
There is a possibility of a deop more this afternoon and evening, but only showers.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

Weather is a nightmare, Emergency laws been brought in to protect the woods and to preserve water here in 24, maybe even a canicule locally, no appreciable rain since the beginning of April, even my water butts are running really low now.
Have already set the watering systems in place and am building a new one for the revamped fruit tunnel, going to be essential this summer I think.TonyF, Dordogne 24220

Dreadful here too Tony...had to water everything.
I thought that we might have had a bit of rain here after the torrential downpours whilst we were in the UK...but nope...nope a dribble!
Our soil is bone dry for the first 9" now!!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

The weather forecast says it will get to 39 degrees this pm - means staying indoors with the shutters closed or staying in the pool.
No gardening - watered the pots this am....they will all be dry again by now.
Not complaining ! Just commenting...........
