That looks horrific. Gutted for you S55. Got home having spent the weekend at Centre Parcs to find my greenhouse being propped up by the barbcue having spilt the pots and such all over the decking, but a little work and 10 minutes later it was fixed. Hope you manage to get something sorted fairly soon.

OH MY GOD! (Drama Queen here....) I can't believe you finally got the greenhouse you wanted and Mother Nature just 'trashed it'. What a Bitch she is.....
Has it damaged my shallots? No! that was a JOKE!!

Seriously. Knowing now the lay of your land, where abouts did you position your greenhouse in relation to the house/barns? and 'orientation', and did you build a base and screw the bugger down or not? I'm sure you won't welcome my questions, but sometimes these things do matter unfortunately, as Trousers and I have found out for ourselves (to our own cost) in recent years, enough said, and don't even go there......?!
Truly. I feel for you both, because I know what that greenhouse means to you.

Thanks Wellie. The full story will be on the blog later today. Suffice to say, it was built and anchored according to the manufacturer's specifications, and against a stone wall on one side (NE). The problem was mostly that, even though it was square and level to a very high degree a couple of the panels were not as tight a fit as they might have been. It looks like the 75Kph winds removed them, which gave it a way in. Aluminium frame and very light plastic panels or sails, as I now like to call them, were no match for it. The structure was carried about 40 metres and landed most ungracefully!

                      shocking

I knew the wind was pretty bad but that is terrible. My greenhouse has polycarbonate panels and I spent three hours searching the site for them all! I have taken them all out until the weather gets better

                      Have you replaced your greenhouse?

After saying I never would again ... I have bought another plastic mini greenhouse (£17 B&Q). It is already half full of French beans in paper pots.
I have anchored it down with a spare bag of compost on the bottom shelf (£2 for 50l in Homebase) greenhouse on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I MUST remember to take it down before the winter gales come again.

No, thank goodness, thank you for asking (sorry, Scarey speaking - Mrs Scared)
I have just made up a mini greenhouse - similar, I think to the one Two Sheds has just put up - fingies crossed that this one lasts. Still, if it does blow away we haven't lost quite so much in monetary terms.
That reminds me, better go and put it somewhere where it won't blow away overnight

My main problem with the mini-greenhouses is that they need weighing down, and also that the plastic covers and shelf fixing thingys degrade when exposed to sunlight. Ok, they're cheap and useful but they don't seem to last very long. One or two seasons usually.
