Woke up to three inches....first thought was "yippee", second thought was "yikes, my baby broadies were acclimatising outside and I left them out by accident - ARGH".
snow here too ..... and i was soooo looking forward to digging the veggie patch .... oh well, gonna curl up in my nice warm bed instead
although that won't last long .... my son is rounding up his mates .... and no doubt i'll be dragged out for a snowball fight ..... man's gotta do what a man's gotta do .....
my puppy been out in the snow for the first time .... he went completely scatty .... loved it ....
Two inches of snow in as many hours her in Sussex. Kids ecstatic and me...
I've Tried to fleece up the plum and conference pear-both in full bloom-just impossible to keep the stuff on them. Any tips?...or are we going to have to face disaster.
Woke up to a light covering and took a piccie of my asparagus thrusting through the snow!
Good thing about the weather is it stopped the slugs getting the lupins I planted out yesterday, but ...
My Nemaslug is in the fridge because the weather turned the day it arrived. The packet says it is OK until the 24th, but should I water it in anyway even if we are forecast v. cold nights? It is pretty mild on Wirral, but we do get the odd frost and even the odd fall of snow. I know the slugs are up and about but don't know how long the little beasties in Nemaslug live for in the ground.
Have you got a thermometer you could stick in the ground? If it is 5 degrees or above the nematoids can do their job.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.
woke up to 3" of snow and went "bugger" i left my strawberries out, but lucky i covered the toms in the greenhouse and leaving the heater on until the sun comes, it think the strawberries will be quite resiliant.
