  • why bother with weather forecast

    Hi

Is anyone sick of watching the weather forecast and they get it so wrong!!! Today in High Wycombe is suppose to be raining all day so thought only spend a little time at the allotment. Turned out a lovely day and had one little rain full - actually passed over while I was feeding baby in the car.

I think I might have to stopped looking up the weather and so see what it is like on the day.

sorry just had to get it off my chest

Same as here Lozza - never right! We were down for a horrendous day of rain and wind today. So I thought it was one for inside - but it was glorious! Not warm like you lot in the south know warm, but warm for here, no rain and just a gentle easterly wind. So needless to say the ironing is still sitting in the basket, the kitchen a mess and hoovering needing doing in the sitting room

........but my veg area is looking spick and span
........the greenhouse is sparkling clean and hosting trays of sown seeds
........ and my face is burning from being out in the sun all day.

    Great

It was the same here, i have been out in the greenhouse all afternoon potting on my veggie seedlings, been lovely and sunny.
Wish i had known it was going to be nice and sunny, i would have spent my afternoon at the allotment digging instead

Saw the report early this morning and I though "just great, another day missed" as it waqs also showing showers all day. Then I watched the report (same channel) late morning and it showed a clear sunny afternoon!

I quickly loaded up the car, and headed down to the plot.

3 hours later and I've got a sunburnt neck (which LadyWayne has chastised me for!), aching limbs, a row of spuds in, 30 more onions, 12 more garlic bulbs planted and a few more beds dug over.

Then got home and mowed the lawn.

Might have the day off tomorrow.

Just imagine if a Doctor or Surgeon got it wrong as often as weathermen?

If shipping forecasts are inacurate they could be sending sailors to there doom.

In fact, if you look at any occupation where the staff were so incompetant they would be out on there nose with a boot up their a*se!! So why not weathermen!

Think I'll just stick to my piece of seaweed and my pile of acorns in future!

well the forecast today was sunny and guess what, big black clouds with heavy rain :-(

Was planning to go to the allotment and clear some of the rubbish ( loads of old weeds hanging around) and take them to the tip BUT it was too wet.

              Maybe next week

My advice: watch the wather forecast, then you know the wather's the opposite

Seriously, I'm sure they can do better!
