I would draw the line through Fort William. If you're closer to Inverness than to Glasgow or Edinburgh, then I think you can safely say you're northern. Mind you, Jenny's closer to Norway than Inverness, what does that tell you?!
Been raining here for the last two weeks, just cheered up today. Still no sign of any courgettes yet but the plants are coming away now!

Broad bean got a bashing in the gales, makes me pine for a polytunnel. Had to fire up the Rayburn last night, it was that cold! Not sure how productive the patch will be this year, it looks like this cold and dull weather is set to continue for the foreseeable future. Late spring, now feels like autumn's come early . Hmm.

I agree BW, just like autumn setting in. Even the polytunnel adn my new greenhouse are not making great temperatures. It was 14 degrees today, but the wind has gone into the north and apparently set to stay there for a while.~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Hi Jennie and BW
We had a pretty mixed bag today - period s of very intense sun followed by overcast dull conditions and mizzley rain - the only constant being the strong gusty wind from the NW.
We klit our wood burning stove the other night too BWRat

NW winds for the last two days, dull, damp, no sun and only 14 degrees. Heating on in the house. But peas and beans outside are doing quite well considering.~
