        • Torrential rain this pm...but having cleared the drains up the raod myself after the last torrent, no real issues... drying now.
rasps still brilliant, pond overflowing.. given up on marigolds (slugs and snails ate most) and sunflowers looking very holey (snails)..

To say I am peed on and peed off would sum it up nicely (apologies ).

            • Not again

Woke up this morning, took a look out of the bedroom window, 'oh no not again' yes youv'e guessed, rain, rain and more rain, so got back into bed. Washed all my ideas of the lotte right out of my head.

The thought of all that wasted, beautiful sunshine on Wednesdays and yesterday, now just a distant memory.

We were not able to get to the lotte on either of those days.

Damn, why does shopping/housework and repair men have to get in the way.

              • Friday 20th Rain... with some Rain.

Today started off dull and gloomy, then deteriorated, fine rain (soaks you through) became now what is quite heavy rain and strong winds.

(We took this week off you know to potter about the house etc... Housebound more like.)

Expecting stormy weather later today into tonight this is according to the weather satellite on BBC weather site.

Off to London tomorrow to see Mary Poppins and the forecast is...... Rain.

                • Appalling here, five fire engines pumping out houses in the village this morning, and school evacuated at lunchtime. Water beginning to reach buildings level, so praying it will stop before forecast (tomorrow morning)!

                    • Damn Weather

We have been issued a flood watch warning in Northfield, the River Rea is only across the road (about 300yds) from where we live.

Middlemore Road and the local fields are the flood plain for the River Rea.

Fortunately each time it has flooded in the past, we have escaped as we live in a small avenue and we are on higher ground.

Its raining very heavily, our lawn has a layer of water on the top.

Hang about, the rain seems to be easing. No it has stopped.

                      Won't hold my breath though.

We are some of the very lucky ones, I feel so very sorry for all those that have suffered from the flooding. Our hearts go out to you all.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Next year we grow rice! Fortunately the beans and root veg are still alive so all is not completely lost (yet).
