Not seen them here HM, we are North Chesire / Manchester border, and its been mainly clear today, but cold! What part of cheshire are you in?
Unfortunately Miss D who is with us this weekend isnt well, so its been a washout as far as the plot is concerned, but we have managed to cut the grass and prune back the buddlehia and some of the leylandii that are taking over the drive!
We're in Chester. It's gone a lot colder here, too. The hail has stopped, but it's supposed ot be rainy again tomorrow, and so not very good weather to be digging the last bed down on the lottie. At least the drainage is good, so it won't be waterlogged for long.
Has been cold but dry all day today, unlike yesterday but from what I can hear through the curtains it's hurling it down out there now.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
We had a frost last night by midnight, but cloud had come in by this morning, and although it is still cold the frost had gone by this morning.
Weather is now grey, overcast, wet and blustery (the wind is whistling in the chimney, setting Bella off barking!), and there's a severe weather warning in place for the NW today! Possible up to 100mm of rain due today!
Miss D is still not well, lay on the sofa with the sickie quilt over her, fast asleep, so methinks its going to be another washout for the plot today! Grr!
I think I'd get on to it Nicos, the weather is supposed to be going a bit colder over the next few days so if you've anything in there which needs protection you'd better get glazing! On the other hand if you don't at least you won't have to water anything in there with all the rain!
Whohooooo, it's the weekend and the sun is shining and at last it's stopped raining. Am off outside for some fresh air. Brill!!!!!!!!

Foggy and cold this morning, cleared up a bit but stayed cold and misty most of the day, and feels damp in the air! Managed to get down the plot for a couple of hours, but too cold to stay too long! Roll on the spring!
I was talking to Alice last night and she said that it had started to snow up in Scotland - think it may be on its way to Preston - it's just started sleeting! DDL

Appreciate the little things in life because one day you will realise they are the big things
Mr D always says that we get it within a week or so of it arriving in Scotland!
Personally I think we could do with a good cold snap, to kill off some of the pests, otherwise we are going to be overrun this summer, especially as Mr D was saying he's heard it's going to be the hottest on record!! Guess I'm not going to be going on holiday this year, staying put to ensure the lottie gets properly watered! Lol!
I know my boss would be happy with a nice cold spell, it'd mean we'd have a chance of selling some of the de-icer / screenwash and antifreeze thats clogging up everyones warehouses! lol!
Forecast for tomorrow doesnt look good anywhere in the UK, severe weather warning in force, severe gales, gusts up to 80mph, snow in scotland and on the penines, heavy rain everywhere else!
Quieter on Friday, but wet on Saturday, doesnt look like the ground is going to be dry enough to do any digging this weekend methinks!
Looks like we are in for a cold week chaps and chapessess!
Well- I'm off to sunny Northern France for the week ( about 2oC warmer than here!!)
Will do the soil good and kill off the greenfly.....
NB...remember the birds please!!!
Wonder if they do Rhubarb Schnapps out there???...Will have to make do with warmed Calvados otherwise!!! Doh......
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Hope It cheers up for you Nicos. We are having a very grey patch at the moment. No Rhubarb Schnapps I'm afraid but warm Calvados is really good and if you like aniseed Pastis is wonderful

Have a lovely trip to the sunshine Nicos! Looks like being cold nights, but the days are supposed to be similar to today, which was lovely! Cant wait to get down the plot this weekend, I'm off and the weather looks good, bliss!!
