The strongest gusts from Storm Francis aren't meant to reach me until 15.00hrs and already all my Hollyhocks are horizontal. I've decided to busy myself indoors and not venture back out until this evening or even tomorrow. I just hope my Sweetcorn survive

Storm Ellen last week destroyed one of my blow-away mini greenhouses (it was very well secured, so the connectors broke instead ), and I expect my other blow-away to suffer the same fate today.

I lost my wonky Gold Delicious thanks to Storm Ellen. Damn these Summer storms

Proper rough now, gardening taking a beating, small leak in the conservatory roof to fix when it all calms down.

My greenhouse has four slabs on the edges of the frame and it has stayed down.
The gourds have got enough fruit on them to stop the wind ripping them out of the ground.
I have posted photos in the gourd bed thread in veging out.
The runner beans have lost quite a few leaves.

Well. Ellen (last weekend) took down all of my greengages (three trees) and Red Sensation pears, and removed the leaves from my Cobra french beans - looks like I am growing twigs!.

Francis was worse, in that it was constant high winds instead of gusts. So Francis took my Concorde pears, quinces, lots and lots of apples, a lot of damsons, the dahlias are all broken and had to be cut quite hard back, and some rose bushes getting the brunt were denuded of leaves. Oh my bokashi bin lid was on the far end of the next field, lol.

A bit tired of the wind...but at least not 150mph, like Louisiana (yet, anyhoo). But the cats were pleased that last night was finally not blowing a hooley, so the windows were open for explorations.

I hope everyone is OK and just picking up minor messes, like us.

Late to this party, but I was away last week camping (hence catching up at the moment). It was my first time camping and we did so through Storm Francis on the Tuesday night.

It was an adventure, that's for sure!

I came back home and luckily the only damage for us was the sunflowers needed to be resupported. Usually we lose fence panels (and own all out boarder so high winds can sting the wallet for us) but they seem to have been unscathed this year
