  • Oak before Ash? 2023…

    So…what’s happening in your area?

Oak before ash, in for a splash
Ash before oak, in for a soak

I’ve not seen either so far….

Round here, the oak is always out before the ash, and come Autumn, the ash loses its leaves long before the oak. Neither out yet, the lime is also still bare, but silver birches have catkins and tiny leaves, the acers are flowering, as are blacktorn and bullace, and the hawthorn's green.

    Endless wonder.

The Ash is now in leaf here which means, I hope, though the temperature might drop a bit there will be no more frost
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
