Gosh, burnie. That makes for a very short growing season.
We had our usual few extremely cold nights a week or so ago. And like every year, it has warmed up since. Looks like we'll hit our first frost in two to three weeks, as per. Those few cold nights every year in late September really hit hard. If not for them, most of our tender veg would get another month. Not easy fleecing outdoor toms!
Whilst I didn't see any frost, the temperature dropped to -0.4c on the morning of Monday 16th, enough to turn my peppermint chard to mush, everything else was ok.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result Forever indebted to Potstubsdustbins
We had a slight ground frost in places on 15th October, but not enough to kill things like nasturtiums. Nothing since - it has been far too cloudy here for frost.
