    So…who will be first?

This is really for your historical records but it’s interesting to compare

No frost here just yet but there's been a definite nip in the air of a morning over the last few days :s

We had a frost a couple of weeks ago, single figures most nights now

Gosh, burnie. That makes for a very short growing season.

We had our usual few extremely cold nights a week or so ago. And like every year, it has warmed up since. Looks like we'll hit our first frost in two to three weeks, as per. Those few cold nights every year in late September really hit hard. If not for them, most of our tender veg would get another month. Not easy fleecing outdoor toms!

We get long days in summer, long nights in winter and quite often cold, not too much w being on the coast though.

Our first frost was today, 2c in the GH, a crunchy lawn and frost covering the trailers.
It’s a month earlier than last year.

Although I wasn't awake to see it myself, I'm told we had 'ground frost' on Sunday too.

First one at Riddlesdown yesterday. Begonias were untouched.

Whilst I didn't see any frost, the temperature dropped to -0.4c on the morning of Monday 16th, enough to turn my peppermint chard to mush, everything else was ok.

Last weekend apparently for us when we were away. It hit 2C so that’s no surprise.

First frost for us last night. Not a very heavy one.

Last year it was 6 November, so a bit earlier this year, but still two weeks or so later than I'd normally expect it.

We had a slight ground frost in places on 15th October, but not enough to kill things like nasturtiums. Nothing since - it has been far too cloudy here for frost.
