Which weather forecast do you trust?

I used to use the weather on the BBC website (typing in my post code). However this often varies wildly from TV weather and other 3rd party services.

Just recently I have used the weather service on the gardeners world website as it appears a lot more in depth and thankfully is geared up to gardeners.

The bbc is offering me a low temp of 8C over the weekend, whereas the GW one is warning me to fleece up with temps as low as -1C over the weekend.

What service do you trust? Are there any other decent weather services.

Ive found metcheck.com to be quite good, tomorrow its showing 10pm to be 2C feels like -2C ,

im hoping that its wrong as ive put all the citrus plants outside and im not covering them up or bringing them in , i supose i will have to spray them with water just in case

metcheck is the best but sometimes have lower temps than it actually is maybe a few degrees, I always use them and have trust in them but keep checking as it does change

metcheck every time - I work from home, in a north-facing office that overlooks my vegetable plot - I use metcheck because it's always colder in my office than it is outside!

Have you tried Weather Forecasts - UK Weather News - Netweather.tv ?
It's a very good weather site, forecasts,weather models, long range forecasts, weather warnings etc

I use the Met Office gadget on my PC that then links then to Met Office: Neath Abbey: forecast weather

I use a combination of a website and the windows forecast. As in, I look out of my window.

I think forecasters can give you a rough guide, but can't give macro forecasts for a particular street/house/plot.

Temperatures can vary wildly from one village to the next, and even from one end of the village to the other, let alone county to county.

I use the Met Office one to give me a rough idea, then wing it a bit.

I generally find metcheck to be the most accurate- although I have to say that this week they've been about 10C out most of the week!!

The French ones aren't so 'accurate' as the towns that are mentioned are a fair distance away!...some French sites only give you that day's forecast - and you have to PAY for 2 or more days ahead!!!! ( as IFFFFF!!!!!)

I use Metcheck, but taking a look outside is always the best bet

As you are in Wales, do you have a version of the MWIS forecast that would be any use to you? Although it is focussed on our fells, I find it far more accurate than the BBC (who seem to think that the whole of Cumbria has the same weather - d'uh).

I also use HeyWeyne's "window forecast" - quick look west to see what is coming in from the coast usually gives me enough time to put the tools away and get the washing in before the rain arrives.

i find the bbc forecasts are hopelessly inaccurate - they can forecast 3 days of heavy rain, then we have 3 days of bright sunshine
the only time they get the weather right is when they what the weather is right now ......
i've switched to the window forecast .........

I also use the window method and the bottom of the garden look up the valley method.

I know a bit about local variations - some of the locals say 'it's two coats colder by there'.

The BBC weather is a bit shambolic they report one thing on the TV and the website says another.

I think I will test out metcheck for a bit. I also have a widget in my linux desktop, but that is like so 'I already new that' (it is showing me a sun/cloud at the mo at 13C).

I've given up with forecasts! The window method is about the only one you can rely on.

The BBC website says it's 'in association with the Met Office', but their forecast can be completely different to the Met Office forecast. So they get the information from the Met Office and then make up their own?

I use a slightly up graded version of "window method",I open it,if I'm wet,it's raining if my head nearly gets blown off,it's windy,if it's cold,I close the window.Works for me( I do use the inshore met office forecast for my fishing,that seems accurate,but not a lot of use if you live in the middle of the country)
