It's too hot!

I want to be digging, I have a ton of work to do. But I'm not mad enough to dig in this weather. Besides the ground is either dust or concrete. (and not always the dirt type of concrete )

So I'm inside atm, because my house is nice and cool.

Can't we have something in the middle please? Something average, not freezing the brasses off a monkey and not melting Womble point weather.

For goodness sake.

I'm digging out a 2' deep patch (10x 8) to lower my GH - it's really hard work in this weather, but I grew up in this kinda weather (well, it was in the 40s where I grew up, so a bit hotter) so I love it..

My niggle is I recently bought new ice skates and played a game last night without wearing socks... oh man, each foot as four blisters on and now my socks are stuck to them :/ That's making digging out the tree stumps difficult!

Me too, too hot. Mind the house is nice and cool at the moment till the sun gets on the front windows. I will then be retiring to the back garden.

I'm too hot too, this up and down weather is really getting on my nerves and no good for the plants either. Was meant to be digging a couple of beds this weekend but it's just been too hot so have resorted to doing what jobs I can in the semi shade so the raspberries are nicely weeded now. Have given up at the plot for this afternoon as it was making me feel ill (no shade at all in the afternoon) and caused me to have a headache last night. Will go back after tea tonight before it goes dark to do a bit of watering / harvesting but that'll have to do for this weekend. May go and sow a few seeds in modules in the shed at home later but for now am sticking with the relative cool of the house.

My greenhouse is too hot but the rest of the weather is ok. The garden is dry as dust (as it's clay soil) so not doing much. Pottering and chopping trees to go into skip or to take to the tip.

I keep dashing out , doing a few jobs and then coming in to the cool house.

Just of to get steak to barbecue now I have cleared enough space to wheel out the barbie.

ooo...i'm curious to know where you grew up....i lived in south east asia as a child, and only coped with the 40 degree temps by spending the day in the swimming pool!!.

Its way way to hot, givenup on jobs today and will come out around 7 when it is cooling down I think

Yep, it's way too hot here too - has been for three days now.

Been gardening in the dark to get everything done (as I am getting the wee one for bed between half seven and half eight) - I think the neighbours think I've cracked finally. The plants I put in this morning will hopefully survive - they're tired now so having a lie down.

Just waiting for the next frost now to finish things off!

30C here at the moment...goodness knows how peeps in hotter climates cope!

Broad beans are starting to droop.
Think we'll all need to keep a close eye on our young plants.
( tis hard to believe that it's only a couple of weeks ago that all our spuds where completely knocked back by 2 nights of frost at -3C)

It is crazy hot. I am trying to keep my bunnies cool by placing frozen water bottles next to them, constantly checking their water, and providing as much shade/air flow as I can. Poor little things.

I have just finished my final year dissertation with a final proof read today and was going to allow myself a the whole afternoon in the garden to celebrate. Desperately need to catch up with potting on and sowing and things but its too hot even in the shade. My patio has its own micro-climate I think as my garden is so enclosed!!! Ho hum.

Have spent most of the morning watering and damping down here (west Cornwall)...but...would suggest keep an eye on overnight temps for the next week or so!!

Its been so hot here too...temp went off the scale about 4 this afternoon in the greenhouse...50 ish...watered the plot tonight at around 8 and it was 23 degrees...lets hope it keeps up for the crops..!

It's been that hot even the chilli plants are fainting. Desperately need some rain. Metcheck was saying it would be dropping to 1degree next month but it's gone up to around 8 now I think. Crazy crazy country.
