I want our snow and I want it NOW!

Its been snowing here since 7 am, just taken me 6 HOURS to do a 40 mile journey on the A34

It took me five minutes to go to the Stables in the snow. An hour and a quarter to round up the bladdy Horses, and five minutes do drive back home. During the time we were out about three centimetres of snow fell, and the road 'disappeared.' Only met one other car on the way back, hope they make it to their destination safely.

I have to go out again in the morning to put the ungrateful blighters out again. Should be fun. I LOVE my Landy!

I've not driven, but at around 3pm the snow had stopped, so I went out and cleared my pathway, brushed the snow off my car and the bins. More snow expected, but I thought it was best to clear some while I could, as it will be harder to shift once it turns to ice tonight.

We haven't had any fresh snow, but what we did have is still frozen solid. Pavements and roads really treacherous.

We now have around 10-12 cm. It is still snowing, and forecast to do so all night. Tow rope and shovel are in the car.

It was starting to stick last night when I took Rachel, my youngest, to her cadets christmas dinner at about 7pm. She was supposed to be going to her friends house afterwards, but I got a phone call at about 10pm. The after party-party had been canceled because of the weather, could I come pick her up? It looked bad but driving on it was really cool, because it was the soft fluffy stuff and hadn't been gritted so it wasn't slushy and slippy. It was a pleasure to drive on (very carefully). Yes there were one or two hairy moments, but I was in no rush and there was hardly anyone else about. Very nice.

The main problem round here is the amount of lorries that had got stuck or jack knifed. There were traffic jams for miles, none of the roads had been gritted so it was treacherous.

It was a lovley sight to see everyone rally round to help people out, digging snow away pushing cars out.

I had to be dug out twice, but driving up the hills my heart was in me gob

I think I may stay at home today
