  • Get ready, heatwave coming.

Netweather are still saying that it will be getting warmer on Sunday (tomorrow) and will continue to heat up throughout the week, then cooling slightly for the last week of May, though it will still be much warmer than it is now. The Met-Office concurs to within a degree.

This is what I should expect mid-week.

Good for the plants but I will be wilting

Mikey, Netweather is currently forecasting a daytime high of 16° for Wednesday in Sunderland, so not quite the heatwave you might be hoping for, though I hope for your sake that they've got it wrong.

Jeanied, they've forecast 23° for your area...just how hot do you want it?

I thoroughly agree - today was the first time I've seen that yellow thing in the sky for ages

We had 'yellow thing' all morning but wet stuff has been bouncing off the ground here!
Exceptionally heavy rains expected tonight! ( LOVE it- we have a Velux window in the bedroom - noisy or what????!!!)

Glad to see we'll get 24C by Wed/Thurs too. Must check my well again soon!

If it comes from a plant, eat it. If it was made in a plant, don't!!

You leave yer jumper on as long as you like Zaz, no need for my permission, in fact it was a tad chilly here today...but that's today!

I must admit, it does amuse me how often people use the word 'freezing' when it's a tad on the cool side. Just last week my wife's boss said to her "It's bluddy freezing out there!" on a day when I thought it was quite mild. Oh well, we're all different, maybe it's because I work outside all day every day, then go kayaking on a cold river, that I don't feel it the same. The tables do turn in the summer when everyone keeps saying "In't it lovely weather...bet you're lovin' it working out in this" when I think it's unbearably hot and would challenge god to a duel if it meant the temperature would drop a little.

AHA! My plan for this year to only take time off work where possible two days after a new moon is already bearing fruit! New moon Sunday 20th - mothhawk off work Wed Thurs Fri!
