I started my winter veg sowing yesterday, might as well. Everything in the Poly is going as it should tho I wouldn't be surprise if the Met will declare the spring of 2012 as the darkest since records, average light levels according to my weather app are down big time, expect a bigy'sh hungry gap and less sweetness in many vegLast edited by CimaDirapa; 15-06-2012, 10:49 AM.

We had some heavy rain last night along with a fairly brisk wind, but nothing too extreme. We also have more heavy showers forecast but I'm hoping that we'll avoid the worst of the weather - warmish at the moment (~15C) and sunny so it should warm up another couple of degrees as the day progresses.
Hopefully the veg that were semi-drowned the other week will be able to recover.

It may have been cloudy yesterday, but doesn't stop the rays.... It was lovely!!!Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Very wet and windy in good old Ireland last night (wet all week..)
So depressing...Slugs are loving it (and my plants..) thoI dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
...utterly nutterly

I've ordered some cloches for my courgettes and squash. Not sure what to do about tomatoes - they're still in their tiny pots so I brought them inside yesterday, looking very sorry for themselves. They really need to go into their proper pots but how to give them some protection then?March is the new winter.

Had flash floods in my garden it was running down like a river and not sure if a blocked drain but the path was under 6" of water at one stage! Probably just the volume of water. Even the dogs took one look at it and decided to pee indoors
As I type, on nights but having a coffee break, the rain is hammering it down.........funny as soon as they declared a draught the 'cats and dogs' have cometh!
I have never seen as many slugs in my life as this year but the 'midnight oil' and a sharp pair of scissors have kept the birds happy unless the rain has washed them away
Back to the grindstone!!
