The neighbours are busy clearing their drives - I'm leaving mine untouched. If its going to freeze again tonight I'd rather fall on frozen snow than on the icy bits that are left after a bit of path clearing.
A youngster has just thrown himself face-first into my untrodden snow, rubbing his face in it, rolling around and throwing it up in the air. His friends could see me in the window, watching and said something to him and he got up looking very sheepish So we all waved and laughed and off they went. Oh to be young again
what with what we got last week that hadnt gone, then what we got friday, then last nights on top we've got about 7-8", its just taken my sons 2 hours to do a school bus journey that normally takes 20 mins... bet they hate me right now... cant see anything but white and footprints from the dog in my garden
Snerred all day yesterday - does look pretty though
Must go out in a min and shake it off the netting before it collapses another cuppa first tho.................
Possible "Snow Bomb" for Southwest Tonight
Added : Mon 21 January : 10:18 GMT
There is growing confidence that an intense pulse of heavy snow could affect North Devon, South Wales, Bristol area, Dorset as well as Salisbury Plain, Mendips and Cotswold Hills later tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning.
There is a potential for an additional 10cm of snow falling within a 3hr period which will lead to rapid accumulations on already fallen snow.
The area of snow is tied in with a rather fragmented and messy upper air picture to the South-west of the UK and as this upper vortex drifts East there is the potential for more intense small scale snow events along the South of England during Tuesday and Wednesday.
We will be watching developments to the South-west this afternoon and updating this risk based on convection appearing in the Celtic Sea around 5pm this evening.
So I'm very hopeful.......not that Metcheck have been right up to now.
