      • I have no idea what's heading our way. Metcheck is having a bit of a panic, Netweather is almost agreeing there could be mer sner, but icing sugar. The Met Office has stuck it's head in the sand.

Much as I'd love to see some serious snow with this 'snow bomb' if it does happen, it will catch most people out. That'll be chaotic.

TS,that bad winter in the 80's we had ice on the sea in the fisherman's harbour in Brancaster,no snow on the sand though,as Flo says a pic would be great

          • The main road was clearing nicely, but we can see cars beginning to struggle again as the slush freezes. Might be another leave day for me tomorrow.

                      • Unbelievable. Bleeding heavy snow AGAIN.

Total mission getting to work, first we've morons sliding down the hill to the main road, bumping into the curbs/central reservation for trying to over take (two of them) as I was taking my time going down the hill (being in a high up driving position I can see what's ahead, they can't ). Then we've morons*2 speeding around the roundabout at the bottom of the hill.

                        Blood pressure starting to boil.

Manage to get onto the main dual carriage way - pretty clear, then onto the m'way - which is doused in a bladdy blizzard. Over taking a lorry I slide sideways, almost mess myself (but handle the situation like a total legend ) - said lorry driver sprouted a few new grey hairs and gave me a thumbs up. Like a boss!

Just enjoying peanut butter on toast with a 'nana. And there's not a drop of snow in Swansea - going to be fun telling work I'm leaving early..

                        • I can't believe it either Chris. Last night it was thawing, the paths I'd dug yesterday were clear and it was raining. I expected to wake this morning to a green world - and its all white again. Snowing heavily, the road is covered again and beneath that is a lot of slush that maybe frozen.
Take care Chris and everyone else who has to travel. I want to see you all back here this evening safe and sound

                          • Yes we have snow here this morning as well (I'm just over the mountain -ish from Chris). Looks like about another 4 inches or so have fallen overnight and it's still snowing. Not much traffic on the bypass and what is moving is very slow.

At least I don't have to go out today thankfully.

Take care all you peeps having to try to get to work and back

                            • I went out to try and get the car cleared and wow- it's not snow covering it [well, under the 4 inches of snow] it's sheet ice. And I mean like you get in a freezer when you are de-icing it. About an inch of it. If I chip it off the paint might be coming too. And the roads themselves are sheet ice. At least people are driving slowly up and down it; but it's like Christmad day out there - hardly anyone driving down the main road at all...eerie and weird.

                              Never seen anything like it.

Mr Z flies back from Poland today - so fingers crossed the airport doesn't close again like yesterday. Meep.
