        • Ser.....according to the weather pundits we may get sner overnight tonight, with a possibility of it starting early evening. As it's stopped raining and the ground has dried, this could be promising.........but I'll believe it when I see it.

Metcheck are saying it should be snowing right now.......yeah, right. Look out of the window, you weather fercasty people, nothing ok? Ner sner her!

I have Seasonal Adjustment Disorder. The light that the snow produces really makes me feel energised (as naff as that sounds) I love the snow....really miss living in Scotland for the snow and the big skies.

I like it for a day or two - preferably with blue sky - but its now Day 5 - of relentless grey and white. The road is only drivable in a 4WD, the postie can't get here, nor anyone else. Nor can I go out. Yes I could walk but I have no wish to fall and break something just for the sake of going out. So, I'm bored with it - I have cabin fever

                    • There are no pavements here, Lottie, just road and grass verge - even in summer At the moment it would be the choice between walking in the tyre tracks (2), slush or fresh snow. We have sleet now - must be getting warmer

                      • Just been told in work in Newport it going to rain first then as temp drops more snow.
VC looks like you are going to be stuck for a few more days yet.
About 6 inches up your way.

Thornhill Road and Caerphilly mountain closed.

                        • Thanks Steve - I'm not surprised - there's virtually nothing coming down the road. Its quiet Take care coming home today.

Where do you find out about local road closures?

I suppose if we had snow regularly the councils would provide gritting bins, on roads like yours, for people to use as and when. Like they do in Scandinavian countries or Switzerland. No matter how organised the councils say they are, snow always seems to surprise them. Only main roads are budgetted for where gritting is concerned.
