Snowing again here and we've got to get out today. Also don't have kids at home today so although it looks pretty, I'm fed up. Today is turning into a potential disaster.

Shall we play a little game? Spot the differences between these 2 photos - one taken on 18 January and the other today, 23rd January - and its still snowing ever so delicately
Look how the snow has fallen from the apple tree and the purple pittosporum - and the daffodil leaves poking through the snow. I feel so much better now

I had a dental appointment at 9.00am this morning. An inch and a half of snow fell while I was getting seen to . The Aberdeen ring road turned to ice very quickly and it is up one side down the other. Nearly slid in to the back of a lorry on the down side. Scary stuff. Cancelled our weekly shop for better half's parents this evening. Not worth risking life and limb and my no claims bonus. Hopefully snow will clear for tomorrow evening

Woke up to yet another 4 inches of snow which had fallen during the night
Had a routine doctors appointment at 9am so walked the 3 mile round trip to get there. Hardly saw any poeple or cars about - wonder why? Doctor was well impressed (they're trying to get everyone to exercise more).
Got home and cleared the snow off my paths again then guess what? - we had more snow
My spring bulbs were poking through nicely but they are now buried under about a foot of snow.
When will I ever be able to go up to see my lottie?Forbidden Fruits make many Jams.

We've had icy pavement (and bike lanes) for over a week now. Only the mainest of main roads have been gritted: the inference being that if you can't afford or aren't able to drive, you don't deserve to travel.
So I'm taking a bag of salt with me on dog walks, clearing some of the worst bits around the sheltered housing bit of the estate. I've also cleared all the ice & snow off my bit of pavement, and one chap watched me doing it, and said am I getting paid by the council? I said no, I'm just being neighbourly. As the snow is starting to disappear here, I thought I'd better get a move on with having a go at 'cleaning' the woolen rug - which, I have read, that you do by dragging it over snow.
All I have ended up with is a very snowy rug.
All that huffing and puffing, dragging up and down the drive hasn't half warmed me up though!

You're very welcome Lottie. I don't want to keep it all here
We've had some sunshine today and a bit of a thaw. I've cleared the front paths - for the 4th or 5th time - and cleared some of the road. It would take a lot more clearing to get the car out of the garage - so it can stay inside for a while longer.
