  • Rain has stopped, still lots of snow lying around but I can see grass, the green green grass of home Sunshine and blue sky - now to see the damage in the garden. The front hedge has flopped in all directions, a big branch on the camellia has snapped and the olive tree looks rather dejected - and that's just what I can see from the windows.

      • We have snow!
It's starting to melt though so the hedges are making funny little noises as it slips off the top and through the branches.

Had a walk around the allotment. Sky is blue. Looks lovely. Lots of fox and bird prints.

All I have ended up with is a very snowy rug.
Turns out I was doing it wrong.

And now I have some proper instructions to follow (here), the snow has melted. Hey ho!

            • We were forecast heavy snow overnight. What we got was a very minor sprinkling, followed by rain. Now we have sun, and it's warm. Our gritters didn't cover this area until after the event - as usual.

I think the problem is, since the 'There will not be a Hurricane' incident, they 'over forecast' everything, so it's never as bad as they've predicted, and the country doesn't come to a standstill.

                • We have no snow left all now, not unless you count the horrible grey piles in the car parks.

                    • Still have lots of snow - even white snow. I've cleared enough of my drive to get the car out but there's still some pristine white stuff out there.

                            • Well, that's it, 6-12"of snow, gone overnight. Only the odd snowman left in gardens. Bet it's going to be a massive bog in the woods this morning! On the plus side, I'll be able to get at the chippings pile at the allotment now

                              • We've only had a light dusting that was gone in a few hours, still waiting on the few inches that the weather man promised. Hopefully we just lucked out and won't be getting any this year.
