Are you thanking the Mods for removing whatever you wear on the beach?

Snadger, I can assure you that I look nothing like the ladies in the beach wear The Mods would be offering me something voluminous to cover it all up

Surely every year is great for something? This is my 7th year growing veg at the Hill, and although every year has had it's foibles, I grow a variety of stuff, so can't look back in all honesty to see anything other than a good year for something.

Every time I walk past the veg in the supermarket, I win - from bellowing across Tesco to my mother on the other side of the veg counter '£2.99 for THREE STICKS of rhubarb!! CAN you BELIEVE IT!!!' to the sublime taste this year of just one asparagus spear off each crown; grown and nurtured for the last three.

So, yes, there has been a really good year - it's always this one.
