Interesting that a few other people use xcweather. Most people i know don't seem to know about it!

I use intuition (having a feel for what's going to happen), looking out of the window (cloud patterns etc) and my other half who obsessively checks it.

The East facing window is generally my first choice, then I check what the West facing door indicates.
