  • Wood pigeons on greenhouse ridge

    My mums area has alot of wood pigeon as alot of gardens have conifers to nest in. They are constantly on the top of her greenhouse ridge , has anyone managed to put anything on the ridge to deter?
    Northern England.

    They are a menace here!! They've eaten all the flowers off my plum trees again!!

      I fastened wire across the ridge then added tape streamers it seemed to work for me until they started to work loose. Maybe something similar would work for your Mum.

          I was just looking at a spike ridge thing you can glue on , tie wrap etc .

            Any way to electrify the ridge? Shame more of you carnivores don't eat them, they're big buggers!

                If they move from the GH roof, they'll perch somewhere else since they live nearby.
                There are lots here but, as long as they're not eating my veg, I leave them be.

I had a huge centipede wander out from under my potatoes... I may have screamed a little, but still grateful for him enjoying the caterpillars later in year
