Drooping leaves on Pear and Apple

Has anyone any idea what may be causing this please?
Otherwise very healthy Pear trees now with the new growth drooping. Also, i've noticed some of these new leaves are developing black patches as well!!

Could be almost anything particularly a problem at the roots, but before looking into complex possibilities I'd want to put 4 or 5 gallons of water around the base of each of the trees - been very dry for April.

PS I wouldn't worry about the odd bit of disease as in the black shoot as long as its isolated - I would pick off the dead bit and chuck it in the bin.

Yeah, I reckon they're dry. Lots and lots of water on them
