Wierd Eggs in my compost bag

I found a group of eggs that had been laid in my bag of manure.
Theyre too big to be insect or moth eggs, and not frog eggs - does anyone know what they are?
They are white to clear (some white, some clear some in between) about 6mm wide, lemon shaped and seem to be joined together at each end.

Definitely slugs or snails. Found loads when tidying up my borders this weekend, just under the long grass at the edge of the lawn. The birds will eat them if they get a chance.

You should see the size of the slugs on my lottie 2"-3" long orange underneath first time I saw one I thought it was a goldfish!

The wet, mild weather this year seems to have been perfect for slug breeding. I've had absolutely loads, both in the garden and on the plot, most of them really huge keel slugs.

My wife makes herself scarce when I find them 'cos they get speared with my gardening knife!!
