  • Small hole, one inch wide, underground tunnels. Please help?!

I am writing on behalf of my mum, who is worried about the following (direct quote).
We have damage to lawn edges and garden plot. There are one inch diameter holes (not many) and also many tunnels, just under the surface, when you walk on them you 'sink'.
They are destroying my garden. There are also some mole hills beside some but not all areas of damage. But I am not sure that the problem is moles. Some suggestion have been voles, I need help identifying the pest, and also some ideas on how to get rid of it.
    Thanks my friends!

Hi! Please look at my 'brilliant' site about dolls houses and miniatures! I can always use new members, not matter how much you visit or not! Also, the more members I get the more things I can put on, so go on, do me a favor and at least look!

Could be moles. For their size they make quite small holes but loads and loads of tunnels.

Believe me I am a expert on moles who have dug the London undergrund system, the Paris Metro and whatever they call the underground system in Moscow.

        I have similar probs.

Mine are bank voles. They're super cute but make my raised beds subside.
This time of year they love aquilegias !

Definately voles, mole holes are bigger I think, and not left open as it were.

Ah ha! I have found this on my plot too, right by my spuds, thought it was rats as something has been burrowing to my darleks too.
