I'm off to inspect the lillies. You are a child of the universe,

you have a right to be here.

Pick or shake off the bright red adult beetles, but put a bucket under the plant first because they jump!
their reddish brown grubs feed on plants too, and cover themselves with their wet, black excrement - pick or flick them and the adults off and crush under your boot.
You'll need to inspect plants regularly, because new ones will fly in. If you want to spray, use imidacloprid + sunflower oil (Bayer Provado Ultimate Bug Killer concentrate) or thiacloprid (Provado Ultimate Bug Killer Ready To Use). The larvae are more susceptible to insecticides than the adults, which must still be picked off by hand and crushed. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
