I went into my greenhouse this evening and literally walked into a cobweb... in one section it was covered in tiny orange spiders - hundreds of them. I took photos but they are too large to upload so I will play around and upload shortly. Any ideas what they could be?

Memories of Charlotte's Web. It's just a hatching of spiders. I remember when my kids were small I missed a cobweb (one of many I missed) in the downstairs hallway and that cobweb turned out to be a spider's nest. The kids insisted it was left there because of the poor baby spiders, so every day we watched hundreds of the little darlings leave the next on their little tiny threads, and every time they were disturbed they returned to the nest at top speed. Don't know what happened to them all, but I promise I didn't kill any and the house wasn't overrun with spiders, so I don't think you'll have any problems pjh

The photos haven't come out that clear, but each little dot is actually a tiny spider. Good to hear that they won't cause any damage - I'll leave them be... apart from the bit I damaged when I went in there yesterday.Attached Filespjh75

Thanks for the pics PJH. Sorry I don't know what kind of spiders they are but maybe we've got a spider expert on here. Maybe you can take more pics when they get a bit bigger.

I'd hazard a guess at baby orb web spiders - the collest garden spiders in my humble onion.
More about them here: Google Image Result for http://www.anje.co.uk/images/Orb_Web_Spider_1.jpgA simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/
