  • Wisteria - Flowers?

    Hi,
we planted a Wisteria against a wall about 5 years ago. Last year we had our first flower heads(3) which dropped off before they got to the flowering stage. The plant is about 20 foot and this Spring it was covered in flower heads, which have now all dropped off before flowering!
I have followed the recommended prunning which I know is important, but why does it not reach the flowering stage?
I have noticed around my local area(Sutton Coldfield,West Midlands) that other gardens have Wisteria's covered in flowers but also others have mature plants with no flowers.
Any idea what we are doing wrong?
    Thanks.

Same thing has happened to ours in France
It's not very mature , and all the growth has died off at about1"- looks like they would have been the flowers.
However there are a few new stems with leaves on growing now.
As far as I am aware there were no frosts, but that part of the garden is in a bit of a wind tunnel ( the young bay tree nearby has most of it's leaves browned off)

Do you think it may have been due to a chilled wind???

Oh- and welcome to the Vine!!
