I've just sprayed everything with my Garlic wash! I'm hoping it'll get rid of greenfly aphids etc!! I'll be checking every spare minute now to see if they've gone!!!Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Here you go:
It was 2 heads of garlic to 2 pints pf water boiled for a few mins then made back up to 2 pints again. Add 1 tablespoon of garlic solution per 1 gallon of water, she also said to water on in the day so it gets chance to dry on the leaves.Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

I have decided to use this also, is it OK to spray the norty black fly that are on the tomatoes?
Also, I have put the two heads into water to boil up, should I have crushed them first?
My house smells like a pizzeria and it's making me hungry!

Tried the Garlic wash..used 2 complete heads of garlic in 2 pints of water..boiled for 5 mins..strained and added two tablespoons to gallon of water. Sprayed on all my plantd..hostas, strawberries, geraniums, etc etc, two hours after darkness I went out with a torch and found them all munching away at everything. I isolated one big healthy looking snail and sprayed him with the undiluted garlic wash...he swayed and he rolled over after about 20mins...and I thought he was dead. 2 days later he was alive again..and moving.!! I was gutted..so sad that yet another wonder was USELESS. The copper tape was all around the pot that I removed the snail from in the first instance.
I am now going to try the 'bran method'. If that doesn't work, I will try the 'wine method'..and it will be me drinking it..not the snails..and hopefully I will be able to ignore my garden and the monsters that overule me.

We've got a product available here in Oz called Beat a Bug, which is a ready to use spray containing Garlic & Chillies which is quite effective. I'm just wondering how you'd go adding some 'hot' chillies to you garlic water when boiling. The only thing I found with it was not to spray it on tomato plants in fruit, as it tends to taint the flavour of the tomatoes when ripe. You can read what they say about this here ---> Beat-A-Bug Home PageI love growing tomatoes.
