  • they're back!!!

ok after two nights hunting, i have a box of about 50 snails and 30 slugs! (they are now in a salty wet coffin) argh!!!!

but i have found a way of picking up the slugs without touching them, even with gloves on i repulse at this - i am using a peg, you can pick them up and plop them in the liquid, to go to their death, it really works!

Su, are you cheating by having two threads going on the same subject?
You aren't a real gardener until you can crush a slug in your bare hands, y'know.

My grandad used to go round his allotment squashing any slugs/caterpillars he found with his thumb & chucking them into a bucket which went on the fire. Truly organic pest control!
I've taken to smashing the snails against a stone & throwing it to the chickens, can't pick up the big slugs though!
