  • White Flies & Caterpillars

I've only just ventured into brassica territory (never again!) and having been pretty much pest-free until now on the plot we are faced with white flies on the underside of the leaves - does anyone have any suggestions for an organic way to get rid of them? And how do you prevent them coming back?

And while we're at it - what do you do about a 6 year old who won't let you squash cabbage white caterpillars and eggs? She hasn't worked out that they're threatening her Christmas sprouts and need to be 'exterminated' yet

White fly is repelled by French Marigolds ... interplant them with your brassicas.

My niece told me "never kill a living thing" - but she happily collects up caterpillars to feed to the chickens. It's recycling, see
