        Garlic fire spray pest killer!?

        I found this recipe for 'garlic fire spray'
        Organic Garden Pest Control

        I already have garlic spray so might add a wee bit of chilli powder, veg oil and ecover to see if that improves it!?

          i made my own last week;
          2 cloves of home grown garlic
          2 chillis [not home grown but from a chilli plant I bought when in the South of France last month].

          whizzed up in water. Filtered into a spray. Added a squirt of ecover.

          Sprayed on calabrese. Watched as the caterpillars writhed around in agony.

          Next day they were all gone.

          Bingo.

          Plus it clears the lungs out as you make and spray it.

                  I made mine on Sunday, added a little groundnut oil and a teaspoon of ecover washing up liquid. Yes, it does stink! Watch out for the wind blowing the spray back into your eyes too. Seems to have wiped out what was on the plants, but saw a caterpillar munching away on my strawberry plants leaves today and an aphid an a small brownish thing (red spider mite?) so maybe I need to make it a bit stronger and/or make sure the spray gets onto all the leaves next time?

                    anyone tryed this

                    i was wondering if you get the same effect using chilly powder,i am going to see if it works,have boiled some up,no smell,but by ekk,its strong on the tongue,have had a very reasonable result with rhubarb leaves,but thought a change of taste might stop the bug---s from getting to used to the same taste,thoughts anybody please.

                          thanks lynda66,do you just mix it with hot or cold water,then use it,or do you strain first to get rid of the powder so it can be used through a sprayer

                              i stuck 2 whole garlic bulbs in skin and all, added a couple of spoons of each powder, and a squirt of washing up liquid, added water,then liquidised ..... strained and left in a 4 pint milk bottle overnight filled to the top with water..... the sediment sinks to the bottom, so you can just pour the top bit into a spray bottle without disturbing the sediment,(the sludge bungs up the spray) i made mine about a month ago, and i'm still using it, still smells gross, but it's not gone mouldy or anything
