It's ok Mandy. You aren't using essential oil as such so there is no need to worry. This is the method used to make what is called a "phytol" the same way that Calendula oil is produced from Pot Marigold flower head.

Marigold (Calendula) is an excellent skin care oil. Anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, wound healing. Can be very useful for rashes, excema, cracked and chapped skin. High caretenoid content (related to vitamin A). It's important to use Pot Marigold (Calendula officinalis) and not French/african which is Tagetes (Patula I think).
