They just looking for a friend!!Now if I lived in a country where there were dangerous ones I'd be afraid~but other than an ickle tickle what harm can they do?!We have a variety of 8 legged friends in our house~one huge one seems to do it's same little journey ,same time every night across the living room floor!Would love to know where he's going or where he's been!!(or maybe she?)

You think Manchester spiders are a bit tough, look at the Liverpool one! The picture makes the hair on the back of my neck stand out, and I haven't even been to see the real thing yet.

My ex-wife and I lived in Queensland for a bit and we used to have the huntsmans around and in the house. used to scare me sh**less, they really can move and they do get quite big, I had one rear up at me when i was trying to get it with a broom, cue dropping said broom and running away screaming like a girl.

I'm not surprised they are labelled as pests I'm terrified of the little blighters those two pics made me feel physically sick and my heart leapt too in fear. What great joys they bring me in my shed down the allotment hence the reason i only lean in and grab stuff and not actually step in.

The fact is that they are certainly not pests. Many of the flies they eat are real pests that, as well as annoying gardeners, spread diseases - to humans as well as plants and animals.

Your right 2sheds it is a "daddy long legs spider". It make and untidy web and pretends it's caught in it and then pounces on any poor thing that comes into reach. If you try and poke it with a pencil it sort of bounces up and down on the web - that's about it's only trick but a novel one.
