  • Cysts / Warts on tomato stems

On checking my toms at the weekend, I noticed that three of the six stems have developed what can only be described as small wart like cysts up their length. Theses can be rubbed or picked off and examination doesn't show anything living in them. Anyone any ideas - the plants are flowering and fruiting now and the only thing I've noticed is a number of flowers that do not produce fruits.

Picture would be good but could just be root nodules.

Hello Rat, I don't think I would worry. If the plants are doing well then they are well. We've all got little warts. Whoops! Maybe some people (and plants) are perfect. But generally, we all get along with our warts - and do well enough. Hope your tomatoes are lovely.
