    I think the main times they lay their eggs are April/May & July/August~but that said with how weird our weather has been this year I don't know if it will have left them as confused as us & therefore still be lingering?I'd personally carry on trying to protect them best you can.

      Whenever we're growing carrots!
      Seriously though, there can be a couple of generations between May & September & as it's fairly mild they're probably still active. Here's a link to some info from the R.H.S.

        The enviromesh never comes off mine from sowing until harvesting........just to be on the safe side!

          I just took the mesh off my carrots, as the soil is cooling down fast now and will get algae if the air doesn't get to it.

          My Resistafly carrots were not a success. In what way are these carrots resistant to root fly?
