  • Potato Wet Rot

    Hi

I have just inspected my stored potatos and in every sack I have a few with wet rot? I've sorted out all the dry one and put the others for immediate use. The problem now it that the hessian sacks are wet in various places. Can I put the good potatos straight back in these? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks John

No i wouldn't put the good potatoes back in until the sacks are dry. Wet rot is a problem, but you can't really avoid it. i picked out a couple in my sacks yesterday, fortunately they hadn't gone too far down the line so hadn't made the sack wet. If the sack is wet, either use another one, or make sure it is completely dry before you put the good ones back.
There's vegetable growing in the family, but I must be adopted
