Just came back from my Lottie and witnessed a 4" brown speckled slug in its death throws
Not a pretty site, as I could see the little blue slug pellets close by
There was slime all around it and a multitude of flies were decended upon it as it writhed in what must have been slug agony
I have no problem with killing pests quickly but after seeing this, it has put me off slug pellets and I think I will have to adopt the more humane way of control by the beer in the glass trick. At least they will die happy
I honestly felt like picking it up, rinsing it off and trying to nurture it back to health although I know in my heart of hearts it was past the point of no return
Is it me, or am I going soft in my old age?
