  • Something enjoyed my peas!

    Hello,
    Last year i grew some peas, had nice little pods coming, went down lottie two days later... All the pods were on the floor with little chew marks in the middle of em, not one pea was left! Was it mice? or what? Wasnt happy.
    Im sure they left the pods to wind me up. xxx

        most things like peas, probably mice......my chihuahuas love peas, i have to watch them when they are on plot as they 'steal' them lol.........that also goes for my french beans!

          Ok talking of peas, remember the sprouting ones i was growing for pea tops?

          one of them is flowering!! it's kinda freakin me out a bit, its january, they are in a curry tray in the window sill, have been trimmed 3 times for 'tops' i just couldn't bear to throw a growing thing away.

                I wonder if purple podded peas are less attractive to whatever-it-is?

                  gosh what a dipstick, and i KNEW it was February too, however in my defence the flower is well formed so must have budded in JAN, so only half daft.

                  and it was early when i posted, and i was distressed due to having to unplug my pute etc etc .

                  still does not explain why Peas are flowering on my window sill? will i get pods i wonder, should i try transplanting?, I think we already know me well enough to know the answer to that one ;D

                    If the pods were starting to form then it is more likely to be birds especially bullfinches as they do the same with fruit buds. Just pinching of the bit behind the pod or fruit bud.
