  • copper slug collars - expensive! but worth it?

    Hi,

after some recent slug carnage i'm thiking of investing in some slug collars. they seem to be around 15 for a set of 6 small ones and 20 for a set of 6 large ones. They last a lifetime, so that probably explains the cost, but are they worth it? Has anyone had miraculous results from them in the past?

Just remember that the copper is only a barrier and not a death sentence. Make sure there are no slugs in the pot to start with and make sure they can't get in through the drainage holes. You could try a two pronged approach and put the copper around the pot and sprinkle bran on the top to get rid of any already in the pot.

What about the little ones, that are in the ground - they just tunnel underneath.

And how many would you need for a decent sized garden?
