Ants in my greenhouse

Hello!
Last Sunday I was out in my greenhouse and noticed that there were quite a few ants about. It was only when looking at my tomato seedlings a bit more closely that I realised that there were loads of ants underneath the propagator tray (inbetween the two layers of tray). I threw it outside and filled it with boiling water to get rid of the ants.
Today I was out there again, and have noticed the same thing in another tray (which was ant free last week).
Does anyone have any good tips on preventing this happening again - or an idea what could be attracting the ants? Do ants cause any harm to seedlings?

i had same problem 2 weeks ago and i bought a pack of two ant bait stations in tesco for about £2 40 and put them in the GH. i have noticed the ants have disappeared so it must have worked. the packet stated not to let your pets near the bait so i kept my dog away from inside GH.

Thanks, do you have any idea what could be attracting them to my greenhouse? I've never had a problem like this in the greenhouse.

Ants will always try and nest under things like concrete slabs, growbags, etc.

They don't eat seedlings, but they do encourage aphids.

i know this might be abit late now but i use semolina , the ants take it back to the nest,they cant digest it properly and it bungs them up.All they do then is get bigger and bigger and die .Problem solved , only used it once though.

Use the powder or even try disturbing the nest as a first try. They often seem to move on once their nest has been ransacked.
