I've got loads of ivy growing up the side of the house, I chopped it back but it grew back like I knew it would! What can I do to get rid of it? I don't like using weedkiller...

If you don't want to use weed killer i don't know.... perhaps just keep cutting it to ground level every time it pops up? The problem is, if its coming from next door then it will always come back. Is it damaging your brickwork? Is that why you want rid of it? -

Chop the stem right through near the base IgglePiggle and it will die off - but it does take a while. Once it dies off you are left with all the little root things it uses to cling to the walls and it looks very unsightly and they're about impossible to remove.

Could use weed killer maybe... but didn't think it really worked on ivy because of the waxy leaves? Always get paranoid as they end up banning most weedkillers after a few years, after they tested it on everybody!
If I keep chopping it back everytime it reshoots, would it kill it one day? Don't mind the roots on the wall as the weather will get them off one day lol
