        Hi rustylady.
Its not that I dont like moles its just the damage they do.I have seen some fields in this area where there are so many mole hills it looks like the farmer is growing some kind of new crop.

Skipper you can buy mole bulbs which you plant. These give off a smell that the moles don't like so they pack their bags and leave. You can buy them from www.kenmuir.co.uk

Yeah, I read about those when my catalogue arrived last week; I completely forgot. What I was wondering was whether they actually grow in to anything, or do they just lie dormant, offending the moles?

They look like little onion sets so I guess they must grow but if it is a lawn then any growth would be cut with the grass.

Think they grow small yellow flowers which as LJ says you just mow over if it's in your lawn.

I'm going to give the bulbs a try, as for Nick's idea, it may work but doing it in the cold weather --- I dont think so --- Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

Have heard but haven't tryed it though, is that if you put one of those musical birthday cards down in the run, set up to keep going the mole will leave. As I say not sure how positive the results, but what i do know is that I would move no if one of those were playing over and over in my house ! Let me know if you try this.
