  • Speedy Spiders in my compost?

Last month I put some of my chilli's outside and even though they are doing well I had noticed these small black spiders running around in the pot and they have been eating the leaves, do you know what type of spiders they are and how to stop them from eating my plants? It also seems like they borrow down inside the compost as there are holes in the compost.

Gross! Spiders give me the creeps. I have small black spiders all over my plot too. Every step sends a few of them scuttling away. I haven't noticed them eating anything though, I though spiders were carnivores?

Have you a picture of the spiders?

Hi Herby. Spiders do not eat plants. They eat the bugs which eat the plants! Check for slugs, snails, earwigs and woodlice on your peppers. Spiders are good guys! Cheers
I'd give up chocolate but I'm no quitter!
