Help! vine weevil

  • Help! vine weevil

    Could someone please help, i just emptied the contents of a container with a old strawberry plant into my compost bin, when i broke it up it was full of what looks like vine weevil maggots, i tried to remove them but i dont think i will have got them all out, what should i do, does this meen all the contents of my compost bin is no good now for future pots that i plan to fill, please help.

    The remaining maggots will probably pupate, then turn into more vine weevils.

      What about the compost, will i still be able to use it next spring for my tubs.

        When you come to use it you will most likely spot any larvae ... being white they do at least show up well.

          I've been researching ways to kill grubs as I have problems with things eating the roots of my strawberries too!
